Batson House

For the kids

There is simply so much to see and do in the South Hams, and come rain or shine you will not find it hard to keep the children entertained.

Things to do with the kids
Boat Trips, sailing and watersports
A trip to the South Hams isn't complete without taking to the water at some point during your stay.  If you don't have your own boat why not hire one for the day. Try Whitestrand Boat Hire or Salcombe Boat Hire.  Or if you don't fancy the responsibility of hiring a boat, then there are lots of great boat trips available. The Salcombe-Kingsbridge Rivermaid offers a wonderful scenic cruise along the estuary between Kingsbridge and Salcombe and runs from Easter to October.  The South Sands Ferry is a fun way of travelling from Salcombe town (Whitestrand) to South Sands beach.  Or, if you want a bit more action in your day, you can find water sports available through groups such as Sea N Shore, the Island Cruising Club, Salcombe Yacht Club and South Sands Sailing.
